Ah interesting Cheers andy! Even though I won't be able to play most of these yet...
btw, this might sound quite noobish but, for the duets with Don Ross, do you both use the same tuning for each song then?

No, not always. I think on Spirit of the West Don is standard and I am Dmajor, for example.

RE: The Official Tunings Post
I realised, if anyone wants what Don's tunings are for the duet songs, go to his website, they are all on there
enjoy!

RE: The Official Tunings Post
Thanks for posting those tunings.
Listening to your music and watching you play has really inspired me!
I sat down for a few hours on youtube and tried to figure out "Art of Motion."
I've got almost everything down except the right feeling, especially in the beginning...and to me, feeling is everything.
I wanted to know if you had any advice on picking up the string slapping? or is it hammer ons with your left hand?
I noticed the same style dealio going on in "Tight Trite Night."
I do a lot of fingerpicking in my own music, but this is a whole new world.
Thanks again for your music, I'm excited about playing guitar again (and that's what I do for a living).
It's expanded my mind and fired up the desire to learn again..like I had when I first started playing.

RE: The Official Tunings Post
Thanks for the tunings list. I had noticed you used a lot of various tunings. I've been learning Drifting and All Laid Back And Stuff - both going pretty well considering I've done very little finger picking (or acoustic actually - I just bought my first one this week after owning a bunch of electrics).
I'm starting Rylynn and have a question on the tuning. On the 5th string you tune up to C. Can most types of strings handle this without too much trouble? I haven't played around with various tunings too often, but I get to now that I am learning some of your songs. My strings are old, and while I did get the 5th string up to C without it snapping, it felt super tight and I was worried every bit of the way as I tuned it up.
Since I need new strings anyways, I was wondering if some are better than others with various tunings - or if there is any other advice dealing with the strings for tuning (for example - I think the 5th string was wrapped quite a bit around the peg at the top without much more room left on the peg - probably making it even tighter when I went to tune it up).

Hi Andy I'm from the Philippines and you have a hell of a following here in Manila. Anyways, I've been trying to figure out some of your songs on youtube and this post is just perfect. Thanks!
