Stonebridge guitars...
Hi everybody!
I'm wondering if some of you guys have played/owning any kind of stonebridge models?
I have been thinking about purchasing Antoine Dufour's guitar signature model, but even if I buy from the internet without ever touching the guitar before, I might dislike it.
I just want to hear opinions if anyone recommend any specific stonebridge models you guys really really like it a lot.
All I know is, after watcing Antoine playing the 23-CR, the sound is very crispy and kinda middle bright I guess, and after hearing the Antoine Dufour's signature model, it does sound kinda more middle balanced and more middle crispy, I'm not sure how to explain it, but anyway... if anyone could give me any guitar thoughts of the stonebrige signatures, it would be very awesome!
Cheers!

RE: Stonebridge guitars...
I had no idea it was his signature model :S but i was looking at the Stonebridge website, wishing i could afford such guitars with student loans...
But what actually caught my eye was the 23-CR, and then luckily, on the website there are a list of reviews, and what is one of the reviews on? Well, the 23-CR! It's quite interesting actually, and it tells you a good deal about it too.
It does say it's not for the strummers, personally, I don't strum very much anyway, but it is seen as a excellent guitar for fingerpickers , but see what you think after reading the review.
Enjoy! And hopefully you have the money ^-^

RE: Stonebridge guitars...
Sorry for the late respond! very, it's kinda very late =P
Well, the reviews does look very helpful, but do they also have some other reviews for the guitars they are selling?
I'm almost done with my saving the money up to buy the Antoine's signature model, but it would be very awesome if there is more reviews of different guitars the Stonebridge company are producing.
By the way Andy, what do you think about the stonebridge guitar you have tried so far? How was the Antoine Dufour signature model?
Cheers!

Heya dude!
I have tried a few Stonebridge guitars. They have an interesting technique for aging the wood. As a result, the guitar is a bit brighter than normal and for me, it's just a bit too harsh. Definitely give 'em a try and see what you think, there's a bunch of good guys working there!

RE: Stonebridge guitars...
Well, how would you compare the sound of Model GS-23-CR and Antoine Dufour Signature model?
After trying hearing a lot of his songs recorded with GS-23-CR on Antoine "Development" album, the sound does produce very crispy combinated with bit melacholy sound compared to Antoine signature model, since his signature model did sound less crispy, but instead the result gave more brighter than the GS-23-CR.
Correct me if I'm wrong Andy, but it would be very very much appreciated if you could please tell me about these guitars I have been looking after.
I don't live in US, and noir does any dealers around here in Norway do sell the Stonebridge guitar, so I don't have any chances to come over to try the guitar. I wish to try all of the Stonebridge guitars, but I can't so I need to hear opinions of the people who have tried it!
by the way Andy, do you prefer any other guitar labels more than Stonebridge? It would be very awesome if you could point me out some
Oh yeah, any advice/excercises how to become a very good guitar player like you and Antoine? =P
All I know is I bought Eric Roche's guitar bible, but it's not the same as if someone has a video I could watch and see someone is playing, you know...
plus when are you going to release your next album?
I know this is a bit off topic, but it's very awesome since you are replying back to me, and this is not everyday a guitar god idol is replying back to me

RE: Stonebridge guitars...
Hi Zendo!
Frantisek Furch the man behind Stonebridge also makes guitars under his own name, called Furch. It's pretty much the same as Stonebridge, with the same options, wood choices, outlook, etc but the model range is bigger, meaning a wider price range. These guitars are actually distributed in Norway, as far as I'm concerned, at Luthman Norway. As displayed on the Stonebridge website, the guitars for the "west" go by the name of Stonebridge, but they are virtually the same as Furch (which is for the rest of Europe).
Check out http://www.furch.cz
The guitars are absolutely fantastic and they indeed have a crisp sound. A lot of them are made with a cedar top. I have one too, and it's great.

RE: Stonebridge guitars...
Sorry for bring this old thread up.
I was thinking about purchasing new 23-CR. Of course my Antoine Dufour signature model is really great guitar, but I do want another guitar just for the sound.
Does anyone know where any dealers on the net + if they ship worldwide?
Help would be great!
